Connect Claude or Codex
Ask in the Claude app or Codex, and AI Video Studio makes it. This is the connector, also called MCP.
You need: AI Video Studio open on the same computer, and Claude or Codex installed.
Connect Claude
- Open Settings ▸ Other apps in AI Video Studio.
- Turn on Let other apps use AI Video Studio. It starts off. While it is off, nothing can connect.
- Press Connect beside Claude. The app saves a small extension and opens it.
- Press Install in Claude. There is no key to paste. The two find each other by themselves.
- Check it. The row says Connected. In Claude you find it under Settings ▸ Extensions.
Connect Codex
- Turn on the switch in Settings ▸ Other apps, if it is not on yet.
- Press Connect beside Codex. One press. The app writes the setting for you.
- Check it in Codex. Look under Settings ▸ MCP servers, not Plugins. In a chat, type /mcp.
Claude Code in a terminal
Open For developers on the same card and press Connect beside Claude Code.
Try it
In Claude or Codex, type: “Make an image of a dog in AI Video Studio.” A card appears in AI Video Studio. Press Generate there.
Who decides what happens
- Generations
- A card waits for your press. Or pick Start without asking, up to a limit you set.
- Changes in Resolve
- These wait for your press too. Or pick Run without asking, with Undo.
- Stop it all
- Press Disconnect all apps.
Good to know
- It must be open
- It only works while AI Video Studio is open.
- Your computer only
- It listens on this computer, not on the internet.
- It says Update
- Press Update on the Claude row, then Install in Claude.
- It says wrong key
- Press Fix on that line.
Stuck? Press the round button at the bottom right of the app and ask the assistant. It knows every screen. Or ask other editors in The VFX Room.
